Oral Health Therapists in Singapore are mostly trained locally. They graduate with a Diploma in Oral Health Therapy at Nanyang Polytechnic. The curriculum is rigorous such that they are dually trained in both Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy. They go through 3 years of intensive and holistic training of which they are exposed to minimum 2 years of clinical attachment before graduating. Each graduant is required to register themselves with the Singapore Dental Council (SDC) to receive their Practicing Certificate (PC) before starting work as an official Dental Practitioner.

There are also a handful of Oral Health Therapist, Dental Hygienist and Dental Therapist who have undergone training in recognized overseas institutions and have registered themselves with SDC.
